July 2010

Hello and welcome to our July E-news!

What an exciting few days we have had moving into our new office in Surry Hills! Tristanne, Belinda and I love the vibe of our new Inspired office and surrounds, very conducive to creating exciting adventures of a lifetime!

Our Variety, the Children’s Charity trekkers have just got back from trekking the Kokoda Trail, and we can’t wait to hear all about their adventures. Kokoda is one of the challenges I haven’t done yet; I know it would have been tough, but very, very rewarding.

Community project work on our Inspired Adventures is another version of ‘very rewarding’, and the Save the Children – Laos Cycle for Education project is going to be incredible. This will be our fourth Save the Children adventure and you will get to experience the massive difference that you are making to children’s lives around the globe.

We are very busy developing concepts and preparing the new adventures we are launching for 2011. We have lots of new Inspired Adventures underway and we will bring you more details on them in the next issue. Watch this space!

IA_July_SavetheChildren_2Cycle for Education – Save the Children This exciting adventure has it all, from cycling amongst temples, waterfalls, saffron robed monks, dramatic landscapes to painting a classroom for Lao school children. This is the chance of a lifetime to be a part of Save the Children’s vital development work overseas! One of the most amazing experiences I have had in my life. Travelling with a fabulous group of people, all of us working towards a common goal of raising money for a wonderful charity, Save the Children. Encouragement & support amongst the group got us to the finish line.” Rachael Dove, Save the Children Vietnam Cycle Challenge, 2008

Girls are key to ending the cycle of poverty – Plan International
More than 500 million adolescent girls and young women live in the developing world, and they have a key role to play in the economic and social development of their countries and communities. However, many don’t get the opportunity to get an education, find work, or participate in society – simply because they are girls.

Your investment in girls is the key to breaking the poverty cycle in developing countries. With your support we can help girls overcome the obstacles preventing them from reaching their full potential.

Plan has created the GirlsFund to raise funds, which will be used around the world towards helping girls overcome discrimination and lead their brothers, parents and communities out of poverty.
